Traffic accident claims Northwest Bexar County resident

On Saturday morning a 2003 Toyota Camry traveling north on FM 1283 veered into the southbound lane as the vehicle approached a curve in the road.  The car left the roadway and struck a rock embankment.  The impact caused the vehicle to roll over. 

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Shomari Saranyu Aman Anderson, 17, of San Antonio.

Anderson attended Harlan High School and was a member of the Harlan Hawks football team.

Officers with the San Antonio branch of the Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the accident.  According to the accident statement, the cause of the accident has not been identified at this time.

In a statement issued by Northside ISD, “We extend our deepest condolences to the family.  Our Guidance & Counseling department is on site at the campus and prepared to provide ongoing support for students and staff during this difficult time”
