Three individuals stroll out of aquarium with baby shark

On July 28, 2018, at 2:14 p.m., two males and a female were seen in the San Antonio Aquarium on Bandera Road standing near a large saltwater tank. One of the males reached into the tank and physically removed a two-foot, gray in color, horn shark from the exhibit. The individuals moved to another part of the building where the shark was concealed in a blanket and placed into a stroller. The individuals proceeded to walk out of the establishment with the shark in the stroller. At least one of the individuals entered a 4-door, maroon in color Chevrolet Silverado truck and left the premises with the shark. Please find pictures of three people that are persons of interest in this case.

Chief Salvaggio stated, “The Leon Valley Police Department Criminal Investigations Division has been in contact with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) investigators concerning the theft of this marine animal. We are looking to the public to help us solve this case as quickly as possible so that we can hopefully recover the shark alive and get it to professionals for proper care of an animal of this type.”

Please contact Sgt. Eddie Gonzales at 210-812-3347 if anyone has information concerning these three persons of interest or the whereabouts of the stolen shark this case.
