SAPD responds to multi-vehicle accident on Loop 1604

San Antonio police officers received a report of a multi-vehicle accident in the 8500 block of Loop 1604 W on Monday, May 6 around 6:45am.

According to the accident report, a 20-year old female driving a white F150 was traveling west on N Loop 1604 W when a non-contact vehicle attempted to enter the freeway using the ramp.

The driver of the F150 attempted to move over into the left-hand lane to allow for the vehicle to enter the freeway. The driver of the incoming vehicle continued to drift over into the left-hand lane. The 20-year old female attempted to move further over in the left-hand lane causing her to leave the roadway. She then lost control of her vehicle in the grass and crossed over into oncoming traffic traveling east on N Loop 1604 W.

A 23-year old male was driving a black F150 in the oncoming lanes of N Loop 1604 W and was struck head-on by the 20-year old female. This collision forced both vehicles to continue out of control.

A 29-year old female driver of a white F150 in the eastbound lane of N Loop 1604W struck the back of the original vehicle.

A 58-year old male driving a tractor-trailer rig in the eastbound lane was struck by one of the three vehicles involved in the wreck.

The 29-year old driver refused medical treatment. The 20-year old female and 23-year old male were transported to University Hospital by EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is being investigated by San Antonio Police Department.
