Officers respond to car crash on Bandera Road

According to preliminary reports a Bexar County Constable responding to an emergency call traveling down Bandera Road was involved in a car crash on Tuesday, February 12 around 3:13pm.  The crash happened in the 7600 block of Bandera Road.

The report stated, “The constable traveling Northwest on Bandera Road responded to a call with the vehicle’s emergency lights activated when the driver approached a cut through.  The driver of the constable’s unit noticed a driver approaching Southeast on Bandera Road and stopped at the cut through.

The Deputy Constable assumed the driver of the 2014 silver Subaru BRZ would stop.  However, the driver of the Subaru continued to travel across the Northbound lanes on Bandera Road.  The Deputy attempted to avoid the collision by swerving right but hit the side of the Subaru striking the passenger side of the Subaru.

The passenger of the vehicle an 84 year-old male was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The crash is currently under investigation by the San Antonio Police Department.
