Northside dismisses substitute teacher

Northside ISD was notified by parents of a student that an after school tutor and substitute teacher had acted inappropriately.  School district officials have dismissed the individual and the San Antonio Police Department is conducting an investigation.

According to Barry Perez, Director of Communication, “An 11-year old female student has made allegations that an adult male who was employed with the district as a tutor and substitute sexually assaulted her. She is alleging that these incidents took place off campus and outside of the school day. and not on the campus.”

Family members presented these allegations to school administration at Glenn Elementary School. Campus administration immediately informed the appropriate authorities.

The adult male had been employed as a tutor and substitute sine April 2014. That individual is no longer employed with NISD.

Northside ISD is cooperating fully with the SAPD and CPS in this investigation.
