Madison DeWinne in the spotlight at Texas A&M

Madison is pictured with Congressman Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX), whose office she has served in this summer as part of Texas A&M’s Agricultural and Natural Resources Policy (ANRP) internship program in Washington, D.C.

Madison is also making an impact through service in several student leadership positions on the university campus. Off campus, Madison has served in various roles with the Texas FFA Association, San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo & worked for her family’s locally owned DeWinne Equipment company in San Antonio, TX.

Here’s what Madison had to say when asked about who had the greatest impact on her while at O’Connor HS?

“Every single one of my teachers helped shape me into who I am. But Colonel Dan Johnston also taught us much more about life. When we would leave for the day, he would tell us, ‘Go make a difference, fly like an eagle, and have a wonderful O’Connor panther day!’ He never let us forget the potential we had as individuals and all that we could accomplish if we set our minds to it!”

Why did Madison choose to attend college?

“To fulfill my highest potential and learn everything I could to be an important asset to the agricultural industry in the future!”

The Texas A&M ANRP program is just one example of the type of transformational learning opportunities available to students at Texas A&M University.
