Leon Springs rookie fire fighter involved in car accident

On Wednesday, September 27 around 8:19 Annetta Hodson was driving her PT Cruiser when it was struck by an F350.

The District 8 Fire and Rescue and Leon Springs Volunteer Fire Department responding to the accident extracted Hodson. She was transported to University with critical injuries.

Hodson, 19 years old, recently joined the Leon Springs Volunteer Fire Department and had completed one month of her “Rookie” probation.

Hodson had left the Leon Springs Fire House and on her way to a function at her church when the accident happened.

Hodson, was removed from life support machines on Thursday, and died from her injuries sustained in the crash.

Officials with District 4 Fire and Rescue services described Hodson as a “go-getter”. “She was serious about becoming a fire fighter and worked hard during training and studying for the exam. She will be missed by our department.”
