Jacob (Jake) Graves, Sr., a resident of Ozark, passed away Saturday morning, May 20, 2017, in UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was 36 years old.
Jake Graves was a native of San Antonio, Texas, and moved to Ozark, Alabama in 2007. He was a member of the Logan Road Baptist Church. His passion was NASCAR/Dale Earnhardt and Texas Longhorns. He gave up his trade as an automobile mechanic to become a stay-at-home dad and he loved taking care of their children. Jake never knew a stranger, was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Jennifer Whatley, two daughters Jessica and Jordan and son Jacob, Jr.; his mother, Donna Steele (David LaFreniere), his father Gene Graves and wife Debra Conkle, five brothers Jeff, Jon and wife Sammy, Russell and Dustin Graves and Ryan Trevino, three sisters Rheanna, Renee and Robyn Trevino, grandparents Neta Graves and Al and Jeannette Child, and numerous cousins, in-laws Todd and Shelli, Christine Barrett and husband Jason, Carmen, Ashley, Todd Whatley Jr and Justin Nichols.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, Helotes, Texas, with Pastor Rueben Lashley and Pastor Johnny Vaughan officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
