The Hector Garcia Middle School “Red” team won the middle school division of the Regional Science Bowl and will now head to Washington D.C. for the National Science Bowl competition.
Sixty teams from middle schools and high schools across Bexar County competed at the Regional Science Bowl at Jay High School Feb. 20 and 21.
The top high school and the top middle school teams at the Regional level advanced to compete in Washington D.C. April 30 – May 4, all expenses paid.

3rd- Briscoe MS
4th- Folks MS
High School Division Results:
1st- Alamo Heights
2nd- Clark HS
3rd- Brandeis HS
4th- O’Connor HS
5th- Communications Arts HS
The Regional Science Bowl is hosted by NISD Middle and High School Science departments with local sponsor Booz Allen Hamilton. It is the only competition sanctioned by a federal agency, the US Department of Energy.
