Echo game of the week for October 15

This week the Echo game of the week will be the Clark versus O’Connor volleyball game.  Both teams have played well all season.  Clark currently owns first place and with three games left are on the verge of cinching the district championship.  If the Lady Cougars win tonight, they will be the District Champions.

The Lady Cougars have strong hitters, and the blockers create a wall that most cannot penetrate.  Even the volleyballs quake at the idea of being on the business end of Kara McGhee.  When she slams the ball home on the court most in the stands turn and are thankful they are not having to play opposite her at the net.

The Lady Panthers are young.  However, as a team they continue to battle back and refuse to give up on any match.  Last week they battled Brandeis to a 5-set match after having lost the first 2.  They have strong blockers at the net and their hitters are not afraid to power the ball over the net, or just give it a fingertip roll.

So per the Echo Predictors—it will be a close one but Clark will take the match and the district championship in 3 sets to 2.  If the Lady Panthers lose tonight and the Lady Broncos win they will no longer be tied with one another.  The Lady Broncos will cinch 2nd place and O’Connor falls to third.

If the Lady Broncos lose to Warren tonight, then Warren and Brandeis will be tied.  If O’Connor loses to Clark and Warren defeats Brandeis then all three teams will be tied for 2nd behind Clark.

So sit back grab some popcorn and be prepared—the only certainty in Northside athletics is to expect the unexpected.  See you on the court.
