Clark boys’ soccer out, Clark girls’ soccer in despite Mother Nature; Taft Lady Raiders on pause

Repeat, rewind, rinse, and do it all again. These sentiments could be expressed regarding the soccer playoffs in Texas. Last week numerous games were suspended and played the next day because of the weather.

Last night, Mother Nature moved into San Antonio with a vengeance. The boys’ soccer game at Farris, Johnson-Smithson Valley will be played today at 5pm.

Taft Lady Raiders will return to San Marcos today to finish their game against Lake Travis.

Officials suspended the Clark-Reagan boys’ soccer game last night because of lightning but the all clear happened in time for the game to finish.

The Clark boys played strong defense for the first half keeping the Rattlers from the net. The team had momentum during the second half until Mother Nature waltzed into the stadium. When the team returned from the timeout, Reagan capitalized on the break and scored 2 goals defeating the Clark Cougars in the Area round of the playoffs.

The Clark Lady Cougars finished their game at Blossom Athletic Complex last night and advanced over the visiting team from Vandegrift. The Lady Cougars advanced to the third round of the playoffs and will face Johnson’s Lady Jaguars. The time and location of this game will be determined later today.

We will provide the results of the Taft Lady Raider game later tonight.
