Springfield wrapped up its three-game series with the Missions by pounding out a 9-4 win Saturday night.
After dropping its second straight to the Cardinals, San Antonio begins a three-game swing at Tulsa Sunday.
Springfield totaled 12 hits and owned a 5-0 lead after two innings.
David Washington, who belted the game-winning two-run home run in Friday’s 2-0 win, haunted Missions pitchers again, driving in four runs with a 2 for 2 showing at the plate.
Although the Cardinals held the advantage after taking the early lead, the Missions made an attempt at a comeback. Nick Torres’ RBI single triggered a two-run rally in the fourth and Taylor Lindsey clubbed a two-run home run in the seventh.
However, it wasn’t nearly enough to catch the Cardinals.
