Last week proved to be difficult for most athletes and parents as Mother Nature decided to create a swimming pool in the backyards, highways, byways, alleyways, football fields, and parking lots. Many of the sporting events held outside were either cancelled or rescheduled.
However, for some under the cover of an umbrella (parents in the stands), they braved the storms and rising water to watch their favorite football team in district play.
We want to provide a shout out to the bands, fans, and diehards who braved the elements and were in the stands.
In volleyball, there is a lone team undefeated in district play—Clark. Brandeis defeated Warren in volleyball to keep everyone guessing who will be the district champion and seeding for the playoffs.
The Echo is pleased to announce the following Athletes of the Week for September 17.
