Another crazy week inside Northside sports. Water Polo continued their seeding tournament play with all eyes turned to the Alamo Cup at the end of September. Jay is 2-0 in the season, hoping to find the playoffs for another season. Stellar performances by OC, Brandeis, and Taft football teams. Warren pulled an upset beating Brennan for the first time since Brennan became a 6A school.
O’Connor and Brandeis battled one another in volleyball—thankfully there is a five-game limit or those two teams would still be on the court.
Cross Country braved the monsoon and tennis dodged the thunderstorms. Thousands of young people stayed off the couch and hit the courts/fields to represent their communities and schools.
This week, the Echo is pleased to announce the following as Athletes of the Week.
Ashley Hu (Senior, Clark) – She totaled 56 assists in 3-0 wins over Marshall and Stevens.
Bryshanna Brown (Sophomore, OC)- She had 12 kills and a .091 average in OC’s victory over Brandeis to keep OC in second place in the district hunt.
